Active’s professional staff has a wide-range of professional licenses and certifications including Certified Professional Geologist (CPG), Licensed Professional Geologist (LPG) and Professional Engineer (PE). 

Kim Forster, Hydrogeologist & President
Kim is the founder of the company and a licensed geologist with more than 35 years of experience in mining and environmental consulting. He sets the company's core values and strategic direction.  Kim manages and continues to lead business development, regulatory review, and provides guidance for the staff.  He is a licensed geologist in Kentucky, North Carolina, Florida, and Indiana and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Northern Kentucky University.

Rob George, Senior Project Geologist & Vice President
Rob is a licensed geologist
and manages daily operations and technical and administrative staff.  He specializes in managing geological investigations; preparing Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans; and conducting successful Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) closures. Rob is licensed in several states and is certified by the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He holds a degree in Geology from University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Marvin Baggett, Field Services
Marvin coordinates field services for Active Environmental projects including installation of remediation systems, trenching, piping, and remediation system operation and maintenance geological and hydrogeological site assessments. He is a large equipment operator and maintains state licensure for the removal of Underground Storage Tanks (USTs).

Brianne Hedrick, Geologist
Is a staff geologist at Active Environmental, Brianne conducts soil and ground water data for quarterly sampling, as well as site investigations and corrective action plans.  Brianne is participating in the ASFE Fundimentals of Professional Practices cource for 2011 and 2012.  She holds a degree in Geology from Ball State University where she was an active member of the Ball State Geological Society and Ball State Society of Physics Students. 

Patricia Ryan, Office Manager and ELTF Claims Manager
As office manager for Active Environmental, Patricia manages accounting and human resource functions. She prepares Excess Liability Trust Fund (ELTF) eligibility claims for submittal to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for reimbursment of approved expenses for clients.

Phil Ward, Senior Geologist
A licensed geologist
with more than 30 years’ experience, Phil directs and coordinates the aspects of geological studies, remediation services, geophysical surveys and consulting projects for Active Environmental Services. This includes site assessments, soil and water management studies, storage and oil tank disposal services and environmental compliance audits. Phil holds a degree in Geology from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.

Minnie and McGee, Hospitality & Quality Officers
Big enough to make you think twice but so beautiful they make your heart melt, M&M are Active Environmental's office mascots, greeters and feet warmers. The pride and joy of Kim Forster and his family, the Bernese Mountain Dogs
often show up on project site visits for surprise quality checks. Treats welcome!

Pepper, Motivational Expert
Pepper is an intelligent and dedicated worker with a limitless amount of energy. Often accompanying her owner, Rob George, to the office and on site visits, this canine's enthusiasm and work ethic are a constant source of inspiration and motivation.
